Taking care of the body, mind, and spirit are essential for good mental health, so it is important to look at all aspects of a person. During your first appointment, we will ask questions to gather information that will help thoroughly evaluate your needs and identify treatment options. It is important to include all of your treatment providers in your care. If you are seeing a therapist, you can sign a release of information so we can communicate to coordinate your treatment. If you need a therapist, we can provide referral options. We will discuss the treatment options and you will have the opportunity to be actively involved in treatment choices. At times, medication may not be indicated or be the best choice.
If we prescribe medication, we will schedule regular follow-up appointments to assess the effectiveness of medications and discuss your mental health symptoms. Medication refills are written to last until your next appointment, so it is important to schedule appointments so you do not run out of medication.
